The website https://www.renault.co.uk ("website") offers its Customers ("Customers") the possibility to join a priority list online ("priority list") for the Renault vehicle - "Megane E-Tech 100% electric" model - under the conditions and according to the terms defined in these general pre-order conditions.
Purpose of the priority list
Where a Customer joins the priority list, Renault UK Limited (“Renault”) will share the Customer’s personal information with their preferred dealer once orders open in 2022. The priority list allows Customers to be among the first to be contacted by their preferred Renault participating dealership (“dealer”) to order the vehicle. While Renault will take reasonable steps to ensure that Customers who have joined the priority list are among the first to be contacted by their preferred dealer, Renault (as a separate legal entity) does not provide any warranty or guarantee to this effect.
Conditions of the priority list
The Customer must be a UK resident (including the Channel Islands) and over 18.
Effects of the priority list
Being on the priority list does not constitute an offer or acceptance of an offer for the sale or purchase of the vehicle and does not guarantee the vehicle’s availability. The offer is accepted once the Customer has completed an order at their preferred Renault dealer, by signing the order form for the sale of the vehicle.
Priority list request proceduce
- The Customer who visits the website will be offered to join the priority list via the vehicle configurator journey;
- The Customer can choose between several vehicle configurations;
- A summary of the configuration with the specifications of the vehicle (model, version, colour, etc.) is displayed to the Customer with a link inviting them to join the priority list;
- The summary of the configuration can also be emailed or downloaded by the Customer if they wish, as a pdf file;
- To proceed with the priority list request, the Customer selects the corresponding button;
- The steps of the priority list request are shown to the Customer,
- The Customer selects the 'next' button and they will be invited to enter their details in order to join the priority list
- The Customer selects the next button and selects the Renault dealer of their choice, who will inform them of various events concerning the vehicle and where they can place their future order for the vehicle;
The imagery, specification, configuration and description on the website are intended for illustrative purposes only and Renault cannot guarantee that the imagery and description of the vehicle will be identical to the vehicle the Customer orders at the Renault dealer and subsequently receives.
Credit/Debit card pre-authorisation holding fee
- In order to join the priority list, Renault requires a credit card pre-authorisation holding fee of £500 pounds sterling (“holding fee”) from the Customer.
- The request to join the priority list (including the provision of the holding fee) by the Customer does not constitute a deposit and the Customer will need to pay the full purchase price or arrange for finance for the vehicle with their preferred dealer.
-The holding fee will be taken by our recognised banking partner (WorldPayTM), no financial data will be taken by Renault or stored on its servers.
-The WorldPay pop-up window will appear for the Customer to enter bank details.
-The holding fee will be released back on to the Customer’s bank account within a period of up to 28 days.
-The holding fee is not charged and will not appear among the transactions in the Customer’s bank account, except for holders of certain credit cards such as debit cards and prepaid cards for which the amount of the bank imprint is debited on the day of the pre-order and then credited to the bank account at the end of the imprint period.
Follow-up of the priority list
Once the Customer requests to join the priority list and provides the holding fee (as above), a confirmation email will be sent to the Customer using the email address that they have provided, indicating whether or not they have been successful in joining the priority list.
The customer services department will be available to answer any questions the Customer may have about the vehicle itself (options, performance, equipment, recharging methods, etc.) or about the electrical equipment (installation of a charging point, type of wiring, etc.) until orders open. After this point, the Customer should contact their preferred dealer.
Once orders open in 2022, the Customer will then be contacted again by their preferred Renault dealer, who will offer to arrange a meeting to place an order for the vehicle and to assist the Customer in arranging finance if required.
Leaving the priority list
The Customer may request to leave the priority list at any time by contacting the customer services department. The customer services department can also take steps to cancel the pre-authorisation holding fee if it is still active. It may take up to 28 days for the holding fee to be released from the Customer’s bank account, depending on the bank account used.
Personal data
Renault (and the Customer’s preferred Renault dealer) will process the personal information provided by the Customer to keep the Customer up to date on the launch of the Megane E-Tech 100% electric, including sending the Customer marketing communications about events, offers and placing an order. The Customer has a right to object at any time to any use of their personal information. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for more information.
