Direct current fast charging. Used in public fast-charging stations, particularly on motorways, with power ratings of 50 kW and more.  With ideal operating conditions (outside temperature above 25°C), the equilibre optimum charge version offers fast DC charging to recover up to 186 miles WLTP in ~ 36 min (i.e. around 124 miles in motorway conditions) with a peak power of 130kW.  Megane E-Tech 100% electric equilibre optimum charge comes as standard with a system that optimizes the battery temperature only when recharging at the charging point. This means that in colder conditions, permissible charging power is improved and average charging times are reduced.  To take full advantage of the charging capacity of your Megane E-Tech 100% electric, choose the techno/ techno+ or iconic versions which have as standard battery preconditioning when driving* and heating during charging.

Generally speaking, for electric vehicles, recharging the battery with DC current is not linear:

• The maximum power accepted by the battery decreases depending on the battery's state of charge. The higher the battery %, the lower the charging power.  DC charging between 15% and 80% is preferred.
• The outside temperature also has a direct influence on charging performance (excluding dedicated preconditioning systems). The lower the temperature, the more limited the charging power will be to protect the vehicle's components.
